General Manager
Role Overview
ProKel Mobility is seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager to lead our 20 bus paratransit operation. This isn't just a "desk job" you are the engine that keeps our fleet moving safely and our passengers well-served.
You will be the primary point of contact for our client agencies, the mentor for our driving team, and the guardian of our safety standards. From ensuring every driver is DOT compliant to managing the nuances of local payroll, you will own the end-to-end success of this location.
Core Responsibilities
Safety, Training & Compliance
DOT Oversight: Maintain 100% compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, specifically managing the Drug and Alcohol program and random testing pools.
Accident Investigation: Act as the lead investigator for all on-road incidents, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Training & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and classroom/behind-the-wheel training for all new operators. Ensure all staff meet ProKel’s rigorous safety benchmarks.
Operations & Administration
Payroll Management: Oversee weekly/bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring hours are tracked accurately and labor laws are strictly followed.
Client & Passenger Relations: Serve as the face of ProKel Mobility to our contract holders and the community. Resolve passenger complaints with empathy and professional tact.
Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of "Safety First" while maintaining high morale and low turnover among the driving team.
Performance Metrics
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including on-time performance and miles between preventable accidents.
Ensure the 20 bus fleet is staged and ready for service daily.
Candidate Profile
Must-Haves:
Experience: At least 3–5 years in transportation management, specifically within paratransit or non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT).
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with FTA/DOT drug and alcohol regulations and ADA requirements.
Tech Savviness: Proficiency in dispatch software and payroll/HRIS systems.
Leadership: A "servant leader" mentality willing to jump in and assist whenever a challenge arises.
